Welcome to my updates
good times
|
Takingitglobal, also known as, TIG. When I was first introduced to it I was having a mixed feeling, I was enjoying the fact that we were the pilot class, and we get to work with people and learn what they have to teach. But I was upset that we had to do another project involving research and having to work with the TIG members for seven months. When we started working with them I was actually enjoying the research we were doing, learning about a topic and its subtopics. We had to go home everyday and explore the TIG website. We had to post comments on other people's art and write comments and learn about what is on the TIG website. Later we started to watch the "flash'' Ben had done for each of the topics. All of the flash was amazing, it was hard to believe that a person standing right in front of us had made all of those wonderful, creative ideas put into the flash. I was getting excited when we were going to get the chance to make our own flash.
After a few months I got used to the fact that I was going to be working with TIG, and started going on the TIG website a lot. After I was introduced to my group members, who were Justine Chan and Kimberley Cheung I started to get to know, and learn about them and their lives. I thought Justine and Kimberley were going to be annoyed of me because I am so quiet, but it turns out when I talk to them my voice wasn’t always so soft. They were helpful and they did their assignments, and equally shared the work. Sometimes Justine would do the most work, she still had a good attitude. Kimberley isn’t as loud as Justine, thank goodness for that, but she still is hard-working. We had spent a lot of time together and put a lot of work into our film, and in the end our film wasn’t so bad. I was especially amazed when we got introduced to the camcorders, digital cameras, and the laptops. It was so exciting my group and I were going to make our own documentary film. We worked on the film for three months and it soon became boring but after the films were finished we were so glad we put so much effort into it. If we had not come in the morning and stay late afternoon then our film wouldn’t have been as good, all the work payed-off when we saw our finished film.
When the day of the film festival came I was so excited, finally my parents could see what I was working on all this time. Unfortunately my mother couldn’t come because she had to go to work at her job, but she was very upset that she couldn’t seethe film but I told her she will see the film eventually. When the night was over I was upset that we wouldn’t be working with the TakingITGlobal members anymore. We wouldn’t get to work on the laptops, skip any classes or make amazing films anymore. We had a great experience with TakingITGlobal, and I know I will miss them very greatly.

What's going on so far...
|
So far me and my media group(Justine, and Kimberley)are still working on our film , we are done filming ourselves, but I think we are talking too much. We have to cut down on the talking and out something catchy, but to make it pleasing to the eye we have to get some pictures that relates to our topic from the internet, but we don't have it. We have tried sending our film to another laptop that has internet, but sadly all of our work won’t get sent to the other laptop, and we will have to stay with, finding pictures on a different computer and then sending it to our laptop, but this procedure takes way too long. The TIG people are going to be coming very very soon and we have to have made some changes to our film. We are running out of time, we have less than a month until the film festival, and we still haven’t found a way to get pictures and music on to our film from the internet without having to take up a handful of our time.
All of our classmates are helping each other by giving reviews on each other’s films and what they think we need to work on. We all watch each other’s films and criticize it( give POSITIVE comments), we saw many creative films, everyone’s was very interesting, but their were parts that were dull. Everyone had their own unique way of presenting their film and focusing on their topic.

Today I think I'm going to be working with my group and edit our films, we are going to learn how to add amazing graphics and fantastic computer effects, we are going to listen to music and find what we need and want to put on our flash intros.
Alberto, Susheela, and Ben are going to be coming to work with us and helping us improve our work, they are going to give us ideas and escort us to make our films into masterpeices!!!
Today Ben is going to show us the ways of the technology, we are going to learn how to make transitions, computer effects, sound effects and much more. They are going to give us "critiques" on all we have done so far and if we should work on saving time, or say that we have done a great job so far...this is going to be a great day!!

How I feel about stereotyping
|
...Stereotyping can be as small as thinking there are monsters under the bed to as big as thinking everyone is a stranger. Stereotyping can start at a young age, the moment you come out of your house and your mother or father says you have to watch out for strangers and never get into anyones car unless you know them, you start thinking everyone is a stranger, this is an example of stereotyping.
Stereotyping is in everyone because everyone is afraid of something, and when you scared of something you start thinking that the object you're scared of is much more frightning than it really is. Even adults are scared of people and have stereotypes, they can be thinking that someone will come and attack them at anytime, they also have stereotypes when they tell us to watch out for certain people. When they tell you that you have to stay with a group of people because someone might kidnap you, they are having thoughts running around their head thinking that their child may get hurt.
Another example is when your mom just told you that you are going to go to the doctor and are going to have a needle, you start thinking that the needle is going to be so big and is going to hurt a lot! You start begging and you don't want to go anymore.
Seeng someone's shadow can also be stereotyping, for example, you see a tall, big, person in the shadow, this might make you change directions (if you are walking towards them). you might think it is a scary tough person who is going to take your money, or bully you, but it turns out to be a nice lady on gentlemen, shadows can hide the persons real image becauese it can stretch out, into different shapes and thus making you think it is something terrible.
This relates to meda because you get these images from watching television, you see that gangs are basically bullies, so you start staying away from them, but not all gangs are bad, some join gangs so they can get protection.
You could have seen a scary movie, with allo these zombies walking around the place, you start thinking that everyone approaching you are zombies and you start running away.
